02About Our Services

Rooted Healing Therapy is a private psychotherapy practice owned and operated by Briana Sampson, a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in Texas (#204978) and California (#108056) and a Certified Perinatal Mental Health provider (PMH-C). We are licensed and regulated by the Texas Behavioral Health Executive Council.

We provide individual and couples psychotherapy in person at our Argyle, Texas office and by secure telehealth to clients physically located in Texas or California at the time of the session.

03Eligibility

• Therapy services are available to individuals aged 16 and over. Clients under 18 require the consent of a parent or legal guardian.
• Clients must be physically located in Texas or California at the time of any session.
• To opt in to text messages you must be at least 18 years old, or have the permission of a parent or legal guardian, and you must be the owner or authorized user of the mobile number you provide.

Program name: Rooted Healing Therapy. By opting in, you agree to receive text messages from Rooted Healing Therapy at the mobile number you provide.

How to opt in

You may opt in by providing your mobile number and agreeing to receive texts when you call us, book online, or submit a form on this website, or by texting us first at our business number.

What messages you will receive

Appointment booking links, appointment confirmations and reminders, scheduling changes, and replies to questions you send us. We do not send marketing or promotional text messages.

How to opt out

Reply STOP to any message from us. You will receive a single confirmation that you have been unsubscribed, and we will send no further texts unless you opt in again. You may also ask us to remove your number by phone or email. Opting out of texts does not cancel your appointments — please contact us directly to change or cancel a session.

Supported carriers and other terms

• Message delivery is subject to your carrier's service and coverage. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
• Consent to receive text messages is not a condition of receiving services or of any purchase.
• If you change or give up your mobile number, please notify us so we do not text the new holder of that number.
• Text messages are not secure or encrypted and should be used for scheduling and logistics only, never for detailed health information.
• Your mobile information is handled as described in our Privacy Policy. No mobile information will be sold or shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes.

05Phone Calls and Automated Assistant

Calls to our business line may be answered by an automated, AI-powered virtual assistant that can answer common questions, collect your contact details, and text you a booking link. Calls may be recorded or transcribed for scheduling accuracy and quality purposes.

The automated assistant provides scheduling and general information only. It does not provide therapy, clinical advice, diagnosis, or crisis support. If you would prefer to reach a person directly, email info@rootedhealing.co.

06Scheduling, Fees, and Payment

• Consultation: a free 15-minute phone consultation is offered before beginning services.
• Session length: 50 minutes, unless otherwise determined by your therapist.
• Fee: $175 per session. Fees are subject to change with advance notice.
• Payment: due at the end of each session. We accept cash, Venmo, and all major credit cards.

07Cancellation and No-Show Policy

We ask for at least 24 hours' notice to cancel or reschedule an appointment. Appointments cancelled with less than 24 hours' notice, and missed appointments, may be charged the full session fee, which cannot be billed to insurance. Exceptions for emergencies and illness are made at your therapist's discretion. Your specific cancellation terms are set out in the intake agreement you sign before your first session, which controls if it differs from this summary.

08Insurance and Good Faith Estimate

Rooted Healing Therapy is a private-pay practice and does not bill insurance directly. If you have a PPO plan with out-of-network benefits, we can provide a monthly superbill you may submit to your insurer for possible reimbursement. We cannot guarantee reimbursement.

Under the No Surprises Act, you have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate of the expected cost of your services. You may request a personalized estimate at any time. If your final bill exceeds the estimate by $400 or more, you have the right to dispute the charges.

09Confidentiality and Its Limits

Information shared in therapy is confidential and protected by Texas law, applicable licensing board rules, and HIPAA. Our full HIPAA Notice of Privacy Practices is provided in your client portal before your first session.

Confidentiality has legal limits. We may be required to disclose information without your authorization where there is a risk of serious harm to you or another person, in cases of suspected abuse or neglect of a child, elderly person, or person with a disability, or in response to a valid court order.

10Use of This Website

All content on this website — text, graphics, logos, and the Rooted Healing Therapy name and mark — is our property or used with permission, and is protected by copyright and trademark law. You may view and print content for your own personal, non-commercial use. You may not copy, republish, or use it commercially without our written permission.

You agree not to use this website unlawfully, to attempt to gain unauthorized access to it, or to interfere with its operation.

11Disclaimers and Limitation of Liability

This website and its content are provided “as is,” without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that the website will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure, and we are not responsible for delayed or undelivered messages, which are outside our control.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Rooted Healing Therapy PLLC is not liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of this website, our messaging program, or our automated assistant. Nothing in these Terms limits any liability that cannot lawfully be limited, and these Terms do not alter the professional obligations we owe our clients.

12Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, without regard to its conflict of laws provisions. Any dispute arising from these Terms or your use of this website will be brought in the state or federal courts located in Denton County, Texas.

13Licensing and Complaints

Rooted Healing Therapy is licensed and regulated by the Texas Behavioral Health Executive Council (BHEC), which may be contacted at bhec.texas.gov. Consumer complaints may also be submitted to the Office of the Texas Attorney General, Consumer Protection Division. Further detail is available on our FAQ page.

14Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The revised version will be posted on this page with a new “Last updated” date, and your continued use of the website or our messaging program after that date constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
